Pew research

It does not surprise me at all that the public is just as informed about national issues as they were twenty years ago. As the Pew research shows we are actually slightly less informed despite having gained nearly unlimited access to knowledge on any subject 24/7 via the Internet. People are seldom interested in anything that does not concern them on a present, day by day basis. Yes national issues do affect people but we just don't always see the consequences of it everyday. Plus we have so many more distractions than we had in the past, the Internet in itself being the main primary distraction. Of course people are going to use the inter for fun before using it for educational purposes. I personally like to learn, but sometimes it is hard to just work on the computer when you could easily shop or play a game with just the click of a button.
